SJ Wk 1 Activity 1 - Moon poem

 This is my first summer learning Journey activity that I am posting on  my blog. We had the choice of to do  three activities. I choice to do the moon poem. Here is my moon poem.

This is my funny poem.

The cow went to the moon. 
He soon  hit a spoon covered with doom. 
Eh! Eh! Eh! he cried as he could't get out. 

This poem is about what I  felt on the moon.   
I landed on the moon. 

I felt frightened on the moon.
I felt disappeared  on the moon.
I felt being stuck by the  lighting on
the moon.
Then I felt brave on the moon.

This is my work about Lorde. Lorde is a famous singer in New Zealand. Lorde was born in 1996 in New Zealand , Auckland the date was the 7th and the month was November. Her age is only 23 years old. She sang royal songs. Lorde made more than 20 songs. She started singing when she was a teenager. Lorde has won so many awards because of the singing.

My Parrots

 This is my writing that you guys can read.

 Our family has one brother one mum and one dad. We use to have two  parrots there were all ways whistling and waking us up. Our parrots  were so clever they were showing us some tricks. Sometimes my parrots  use to sleep in my bedroom.   My parrots were so colorful . When ever I use to see there colors there were like a rainbow. Our family had  really cute parrots. They can even sleep in the dark by them self. I use to feed them a lot and I gave them so much water. There were looking really healthy.  Me and my brother were always playing with our parrots. The parrots always enjoyed playing with my brother and me. 

Our parrots had really colorful feathers. When ever I touch there feathers there feathers were so soft. We use to give our parrots a bath they had so much fun having a bath. They use to like playing with bubbles. When ever they had a bath they were shining so many colors. Our parrots were always shiny. When ever they have a bath I touch there skin it was so soft. Our parrots enjoyed having fun times with us.

BASF Kids Lab

On the 19th of November while the most school was doing Athletics day  me, Daniel, Madeleine and Lily went BASF Kids Lab at University of Auckland. It was fun and exciting here is my blog post.

First when the bell rang at 8:50 am. We had to go to the office and wait for Madeleine's mum we she arrived we ran straight to Madeleine's mum's car. On the way we stopped at Plant and Food Research to pick the swipe card. Then we left and went to the Car park at the University. 

When we arrived at the University we walked into the room were one of the staff told us what to do there. Then we walked into the lab and we started. Me and Daniel were buddies. Me and Daniel did our first experiment was when the scientist   put water on the cup and put it over someone's head and did it but the water did not come out the water became ice it was so magical. Then we did some other experiments.  My favorite part was when we put the colorful beans in front of the sun they change color. 

After all the 5 science experiments they gave us goody bags. We were heading back to school to do the Athletics. When we got to school everyone were having there lunch. I had to change in my house group clothes. After changing I was having lunch. I had to do the high jump after lunch. I was picked in the relays I made the whole group come second place.  

  

Corbans Estate Trip

On Wednesday 13 of November term 4 week 5 the middle school went to the Corbans Estate Trip. We went there because we wanted to learn about the Pacific.  The Pacific Mamas took the workshops. There were two workshops - the two workshops were the drumming and the other one was making leis for a special person. 
First thing our group did was the drumming. They had to choose 10 each people at a time to go with an adult. The adults had  two each kids to help with the drumming. After that it was my turn to do the drumming and I played the drum 3 times. I enjoyed drumming with the Mr Riceman.                                         

We had to do a competition against the girls, we had to sing a song three times but we sing the song 4 times. After that it was the girls turn to sing the song our teacher Mrs Law was the judge. the girls sing the song 3 times. Mrs Law said that the girls won. The girls were so happy that they won!
After the drumming we went to the next workshop that was making a lei for the special person. So the repeating pattern was straw and then flower. We had to close our eyes because we had to think about a special person. I was thinking, then I got an idea I was making the lei for my mum. 

After making the lei I tied my lei. Mrs law took a picture of me wearing the lei. After that I tidied my space we had to sit on the mat. So we went to the hall we had to do a dance. So the boys were sititng, the it was the girls turn to dance then it was our turn to dance. We did a really good dance after dancing we had to sit it was time to go back to school because the bus was here. We got to school at 1:00.

In class I have been writing a report about football. I decided to write about football because I  play football. First I planned to write my introduction then I researched the information I  needed.
Then I wrote each paragraph about each new idea.
